No, AHOPE Ethiopia is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) administered locally by Ethiopians. AHOPE for Children is a United States charity licensed by the State of Washington. The main purpose of AHOPE for Children at this time is to provide funding for AHOPE Ethiopia.

May I donate supplies and what supplies are needed?

Ethiopia is a land-locked country so shipping is expensive. And once the goods reach a port, the shipped items are difficult to transport. At present, all supplies that are sent to AHOPE Ethiopia travel in the luggage of staff or friends. We keep an updated list of the most urgently needed items. When we have supplies that need to go to Ethiopia, we find people who are traveling there who are willing to create some space in their luggage. Also, if we know that someone is heading to Addis and is willing to take a few extra pounds of goods, we certainly find the supplies to give them.

To donate supplies click “here” to get our latest needed supplies list or, contact us at supplies@ahopeforchildren.org.
